As we approach the end of the year, we want to share an important update regarding FMI Equipment’s operations in Northern and Southern California.

After careful consideration, FMI Equipment will close its Fontana location on December 31, 2025, and its Yuba City location on February 27th, 2026. This decision follows a thorough review of how best to serve our customers and position the company for long-term success.

When we acquired Direct Edge in 2024—a dealership with deep roots in La Verne, California—we set out with a bold vision: to create a scalable dealership model delivering exceptional sales, service, and support for the arbor, forestry, and defensible space industries. While we made significant progress toward that goal, changing economic and market conditions have led us to adjust our approach.

As part of this same strategy, FMI Equipment will also begin ramping down service at our Yuba City location for a full store closure by February 27th, 2026. This location has been instrumental in establishing our presence in Northern California, driving growth in tracked aerial lifts, arbor trucks, and forestry markets. The closure of both California locations will complete FMI Equipment’s withdrawal from the California market, with the exception of far northern counties, which will continue to be supported by our Medford location.

This transition allows us to refocus resources where they can make the greatest impact, ensuring FMI Equipment continues to deliver the highest level of support in the markets we serve.

What This Means for You

Our commitment to our customers remains unwavering. While this change may bring short-term disruption, we are working diligently to provide clear guidance and alternative solutions:

  • Air-tow Trailers
Air-tow has experienced continued growth in Southern California and will transition to a new dealership beginning January 1, 2026. Flex Equipment Sales and Service, located in La Verne, California, will serve as the authorized dealer for Air-tow sales and service in the region.

As part of this transition, the new dealership will take on what will be the former FMI Equipment direct phone line, redirecting all customer communications to the new dealer site. As another key highlight of this transition, former FMI Equipment customers will get to work with the same awesome sales and operations team.

We are thrilled to announce that the following individuals will be joining Flex Equipment Sales and Service at the start of the year.

Silvia Aquirre
Parts and Service Representative

Rachel Reyes
Operations Representative

Dakota Behr

Looking Ahead

While closing the Fontana and Yuba City locations marks the end of one chapter, it also begins another. Our mission remains clear: to deliver “Support Beyond the Sale” and foster strong partnerships across the West Coast and Pacific Northwest. Our Spokane, Clackamas and Medford locations remain open for business, and we look forward to seeing you there.

On behalf of the entire FMI Equipment team, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your trust, loyalty, and patience during this transition. Together, we will continue to build a bright future.
